The Chinook is a twin rotor helicopter that entered service with the RAF in the late 70's. It has a rear loading ramp which allows the aircraft to carry not only troops but cargo and small vehicles. The chinook can carry 44 troops and up to 28,000 lbs of payload either internally or as an underslung payload.

The Chinook is in service with 7, 18 and 27 Sqn's at RAF Odiham, and 78 Sqn in the Falkland Islands.
